This is my own wedding stationery. My husband and I chose to create a theme through our stationery inspired by our wonderful venue, the Tithe Barn at Ditcham, Near Petersfield in Hampshire. The building has huge gothic stone arches and we thought they made a pleasing motif. Our invitations were made with a rich latte-coloured card, lined with a highly textured oatmeal paper, with creamy card inserts all handwritten with chocolate-brown ink. I used a burnished gold ink for the calligraphy on the front of the invitations and the notes of thanks. The thank you notes were made from a cream card and were also hand-written. I put dried rose petal confetti, left over from our wedding, into the envelopes. I made the our favour boxes from this same cream card and tied them with dark gold voile ribbon. We had squares of delicious home-made Scottish tablet (thanks Mum!) wrapped in white baking parchment inside. I used a hand-made banana leaf paper to tie all the brown and cream shades together for the other pieces; table plan, guest book, keepsake boxes. Our Save-the-Date cards were made from small oblongs of hand-made card containing whole rose petals and the envelopes were made from the oatmeal paper. These were also hand-written. We sealed the envelopes of our Save-the-Date cards with a dark rose-coloured wax, and the invitation envelopes with a dark gold wax with a tag of gold ribbon under it. Our seal was a simple design of our initials.
